    That's awesome for your first time!! For me, what I like about FMQ is that it's more free form than it is following a pattern. For example filling in a background with paisley shapes is very organic rather than make straight, lined up, perfectly spaced cross-hatches. I like that organic design that builds on itself and evolves as you sew along....

    I wouldn't dare have an impressionable parrot in my sewing room. What it might pick up would not be too nice on some days.
