Onalee, this is such a beautiful quilt! And I love the idea of the yo yo's! It really adds to it. I know the lady will really appreciate all the time and love that went into this quilt.

What a wonderful gift! I like the idea of including the tote bay.

Thank-you everyone for commenting on the quilt, I so appreciate hearing from people who share this love of quilting. I'm not an experienced quilter and to have the positive feedback is so encouraging.

I so agree with several that have commented this hobby/art form/passion that we participate in called quilting is such a giving and sharing endeavor.

Again, thank-you for all your kind comments.

It is all Breast Cancer awareness flannels, the pattern is Cathedral Windows or sometimes I guess called Pickle Dish. The batting was very light weight flannel. Made with the Circle Magic template. I really enjoy the Circle Magic template as there is no binding it a finished edge.

I didn't like the way the petals appeared (at intersections) with the flannels so I took the scraps of fabric and made the Yo Yo's to cover those intersections. The tote is just a simple bag for her to carry the quilt to treatments.

The label "What Cancer Cannot Do" was done by one of our members here, who does all my labels SewnSewer2.

I presented her the quilt on Tuesday and I must admit when I read the label to her I got pretty choked up and the group of about 20 women were all pretty teary eyed too.

What a beautiful quilt! She will cherish this as it keeps her warm throughout her treatments. May she recover from this dreadful disease. Prayers coming her way.

You did a beautiful job, and it is a wonderful way to wrap someone in love when they need it most. I have a friend going through chemo and I do believe I need to make her something like this, as she needs to know she's not fighting alone....all her friends are with her!! Just BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
