    Did you cut each strip the same width or just whatever size the strip was "as is"

    Please make sure to post a picture of your finished quilt. I have seen a lot of these string quilts and when you have that one strip in the same place and the same color with each block it gives your eye someplace to stop and that makes an amazing quilt. Keep going!!!!

    Nice. I have several 5 inch squares started using a muslin base. Will keep adding as I continue to get scraps! It is a fun and satisfying project.

    Here is a string quilt using a black center strip.

    And here is a string block with different width strips.

    String quilts have virtually no rules as they are scrap quilts (whether planned or random) and meant to be fun to make. Just let yourself go KathyKat and have fun with your project.

    I love them! I spent the last several days, pressing, trimming and sorting fabric and scraps . . . mine, a friend's who passed away and a big box of fabric and scraps that I bought at a garage sale. Now I know what I'm going to do with all the scraps. Thanks for sharing.
