I think it looks great. I just purchased my E book and hope to start on it after our vacation.

Kellie tell me what you would like to see in the book. I can update it and anyone who has already paid for it will get the new link free since you already paid for the book.
So tell me what you would like me to put in it. The feedback is good because maybe someone else feels as you do and I need to address this for you. Thanks for your thoughts on this.
    Rhonda,
I think you helped with the last post, when you said to copy parts of the repeat onto the template and then find the next repeat and the repeat will show through then make your cut. I just wastn't sure if you stacked the repeats and cut out several at a time or how you got each wedge exactly (or close to it) the same.... I am going to keep trying, I do like the center and that's kind of what I want at the top too. The swirly type pattern.

I'm not sure exactly what I wrote in the book but i know I showed how to find a good spot on the fabric and picked out several differant ones to choose. I guess I should have also shown where to find the repeats that is really what you are saying. I try to not take it for granted that anyone knows a particular idea but this one slipped by me. Sorry about that.
Hope you get it figured out. If not get back to me and I will try to clarify a little more if you need it.
Thanks for letting me know this was a problem for you. I need to know these things. It is great to be able to have a place where I can connect with people and talk out any problems that come up with the books!

I did one once - and because I have a touch of OCD - I cut one piece out - then laid that piece out over the exact same motif - and cut around it - until I had enough pieces - I always used the first one I cut as the pattern to minimize distortion -

definitely helpful to starch or size the fabric before cutting to help stabilize it - it's the design that matters - forget about grain lines

Not nearly as fast as stack and whack - but I got good matches -

One can get a folding mirror for previewing multiple cuts - or just tape two small rectangle mirrors together to make a "book" - and depending on how much one opens or closes the "book" - one gets a different number of reflections -

    I like it, very nice,

Can you do the kaleidoscopes like a stack and wack? that makes sense to me but I may be wrong?

Stack and whack is done with a ruler and you cut in rows. With the Dresden Kaleidoscopes you have a differant shape and you need to fussy cut to get the same spot. It is more of a decision instead of letting what happens happen which is how the stack and whack works.
If you could line up the fabric so your bottom layers are exactly like the top layer it could be done but I would be worried the bottom layers may shift.
I don't know maybe someone could try it and tell us! Not me I have too many deadlines as it is. And my mom just added another to my list. Stuff I have to copy off for her by Sun aft.
