Very nice. Were there any problems using the lighter weight flannel with the heavier denim? I want to make a denim and plaid quilt. It will be 50-50 of the heavier and lighter fabrics. Not sure how that will work. Any advice?

Any how I am giving him this quilt since I want to get one to him quickly. I went and bought Redsox fleece, no batting and did the pillow style quilt. With him in CA its not that cold so did not use batting in this one. He already had one from Christmas with batting. Hope he likes it. I am debating on how I should FMQ since there is no batting. I don't know if it would make a difference once washed. Oh...and from now on...I am going to have a few tops on hand. That worked out perfect having one that I could quickly finish.
    Ouch....my son's xray

Hope your son recovered very well. Saw your link on a current post. I think this is an awesome quilt for a guy or anyone who loves plaid.
