This quilt pattern is something I originated to use up scrap strips and small scraps - the flowers are blanket stitched on 12-"x16-1/2" blocks, and the connecting sections are made up of 12 4-1/2" blocks. I have made about 30 of them for a charity I sew for. I sew the strips into a sheet about 40 inches wide by 22" long, fold into fourths so I have a piec about 22" x 10 " wide, then trace the flower petals. A sheet this size gives me about 60 petals, sometimes more. Same for the sheet made of green fabrics for the leaves. The faces are hand made with fabric eyes. I loosely stipple the background.

closeup detail - but oops -- this is one of the older quilts. The newer ones I have bigger leaves and they are made of strips, 2 or 3 fabrics per leaf.

I love that quilt. It is definitely a 'happy' quilt. The child that gets that one will be smiling.
