I have always hated wearing gloves, but I love them for FMQ. Easier on the hands and the neck/shoulders. I use Machingers by Quilters Touch. They are very thin, soft and flexible.

I used 0 for stitch per a recommendation. Not sure if that is what I should have used but it looks good.

Do you have a pair of gardening gloves, with the little grippy thingies on them. Those work well too! I use those myself.

I use a pair of gardening gloves with the dots. Just make sure you get a color that doesn't transfer to your quilt. I picked up a lime green pair and found out the hard way. I just washed them to get the extra dye out and they work great. I cut off a couple fingers so I could have better feeling for threads and such.

Didn't read all of the posts...... so I guess you have at least 2 of us that are 'cheap'!

Good job. You shouldn't have to set your stitch length, because it is controlled by the movement of the material by the needle. Did you drop your feed dogs? It turned out beautiful.

I read on one blog that the woman keep the dog feeds up and used 0 stitch length....so I did that on this quilt. I have Zero experience on FMQ but it come out pretty good for my first time, it took 4 hours but that is with stopping a bunch of times, eating lunch, changing bobbins and of course computer time....
