This is an idea I hadn't thought of.

Sev. people have asked for the pattern/directions. If you'll Google "Folded Dahlia" the first on the list is one from "dungeonquilter" of the QB & is the one I used.

I will be happy to talk anybody through rough spots when you try one. If you love them, don't hesitate to try one. You don't need to be an experienced quilter to make them. After all, it's only bits of fabric. All 4" pcs. & a plain backing.

They are 12" in diameter with unfinished edges. They are also a bit heavier than I expected. I've taken a pix to try to show up how puffy they are. Guess I'll have to put it in the pix section so ck. there.

I would make pillows and I would not change their shape.

I love their shape, too, which is why I put borders on it as it's shaped.

where do i find the folded dahlia pattern. i think they are so pretty.

Yes, they are all gorgeous....I would love one on a tote bag too.....and as a table topper. I bookmarked this page so I could come back to it and get inspired....I made one years ago and need to review how to make them....but someday (lol)...just always running out of time!! Thanks for sharing!!

My Goodnees Pat,look what you started.lol.I have a cookie tin that is about 10" across and maybe 8-10" tall. I think I might try putting one on the top of it,like someone suggested.I think it will make a really nice sewing box for my daughter. she doesn't sew much.This way her scissors,thread buttons and all are together.Thanks for starting this thread.
