Hi Terri, really pretty. I just make my Prairie Points by cutting a square, say 4" or 8" however big you want them to be and then fold then into a triangle. No sewing and then fix them between the binding.

Thanks for that Terri! Elle, I've done it that way for different points, the link tells you how to make continuous from one strip of fabric - haven't tried it yet, glad Terri did it first! LOL

Oh yes, I tried it first and was REALLY mad as I had cut the strips, then made the cuts in them to speed things along, only to find out it's wrong!
Sat and looked at the pictures that were posted, then figured it out. Ok, I had my ruler out and measured the pictures lol

As for using your can lid - I only the other day used a pin pot to trace a scallop for quilting lines on a mini quilt I'm making! Use what you've got I say - it's what our foremothers would've done - they didn't have fancy stencils and templates!
I can remember seeing my grandmother use a large coffee cup to mark semi circles on her sunbonnets.

You're right - if you gave it to someone they would definitely overlook the corners - I know I would. So feel free to give it to me! I love it.

That is beautiful! I love Dresden plates and the color are gorgeous.

When I first read about your starch can it was an older post so I didn't understand that you used the lid for the scallops. I thought you used starch to attach the applique pieces and thought... that's a great idea! Starch it really good so that it sticks to the background and then sew around it. When washed it would come loose in the middle and it would be like needle turn or something.
