Default Former "ugly quilt" now my "Coming Up Roses" quilt!

Another board member made the center of this quilt top and really didn't like it at all. She called it "the ugly quilt". I loved it, so she gifted it to me and this is what I have added to finish it off. I needed it a little longer so added the checkerboard and the two narrow borders. When I layer and quilt it, the binding will be the same dark red in the checkerboard. I have renamed her "ugly quilt" to my "Coming Up Roses" quilt. I am keeping this one as my own personal throw. I have never kept one of my own quilts so this is the first one for me!!

I love the old fashioned look of the top. It made a very pretty throw and your border finishes it off well. Enjoy!

You both did a great job. Good for you to keep it for yourself.
