I couldn't help thinking its a shame he didn't open the trunk and enjoy the quilts, at least for a while. But I'm awfully glad that you got those quilts, as they'll be preserved and treasured, as they should be! Congratulations!

We have been blessed that we have many family quilts from the 20's, 30's &40's. these have some minor issues. He had others that were perfect that he used. I'm surprised myself that these survived!! He has more and he is sharing them with all the family. He gave me a perfect one several weeks ago. Now he is giving me all the ones he thinks no one will want. Ok by me I love them and their issues all the same!! I will display them proudly!!

Good Lord was watching you looking at these, no doubt, and thinking how many years He had been waiting for you to discover them. YEA. Horay and 3 cheers for you and God Bless your BIL for thinking of you. What a neat thing to have happen. thanks for posting them for us to enjoy. That was great.
