    How quick we all are to jump in and judge someone when none of us know the facts behind the young man's being in Viet Nam. All I know is it's a beautiful machine and a very poignant story. I pray the young man came home safely from Viet Nam and is living a happy life with Amelia and that his mom never knew the heartbreak of losing a child.

    Enjoy your new beauty and good luck in finding his family.

    You could try your local newspaper. They may have something in their archives or they may be interested in the story.

    Nice machine. Looks to be in really good condition.

    I would imagine that the letter brings some mystery to the situation at hand. I would definaely do some searching to see if you can locate either Ruth or her daughter-in-law or some family member. Please keep us informed what you discover, but find out which category to post all the info you find out. Good luck finding what you can.

    Could be a lot of reasons why Mom wasn't told of this right away. For instance, maybe her brother was killed or a close nephew, and he felt it was best to just join without making a scene.

    Contact your local newspaper and see if they can publish a blurb about what you found and maybe the family will see it and contact you.

    I agree you have to try to find this family... what an adventure..I'd also be on the computer researching everything!!

    Maybe run an ad in the local paper in the town? It would be a blessing for the family to have.

    The machine is GORGEOUS! What year is it? Maybe 1960's?
