    The corner feathers are raw edge applique, so when washed they fray like a real feather. They are attached to a medicine wheel. The Four directions is a Native American thing. My dad is an honorary member of the National Native American Society, He studied under Leonard Crowdog. Receiving a quilt in the Native American culture is a honor. I guess you could say its what white man would call a prayer quilt.
