Exclamation 'Fragments of Beauty' Top is Done! aka Itty Bitty Crumbs!

Remember my Itty Bitty Crumbs WIP? Well, I finished it today and took pics along the way so you can see the progress. I show close-ups because it's hard to see those cute little cornerstones from here. It gave me lots of ideas doing those little blocks. They were fun to do too!

In case you missed the original thread, here's the link: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...a-t176350.html

Btw, thank you, Earthwalker, for your good suggestion of the name Fragments of Beauty! It sure sounds better than crumbs any day! It actually looks like it was alot of work, but I don't really think so. I didn't mind doing it as I worked these blocks in with other projects so it didn't seem long before I had 180 3" squares. I thoroughly enjoyed making it and seeing it come together. Dealing with the bias edges was the trickiest part but it all squared up nicely. The main thing I wanted to do with the blocks was to have a thinner sashing than normally so they would jump right out at you! I think they do too! I'm real pleased with the way it turned out and I think the name of this quilt should be Wonky City or Mozaic #3.

Someone today had a great idea for the sashing to be Attic Windows! Thank you, KyKat, for your great idea! There are lots of possibilities and remember if you make this quilt, not all of the blocks have to be with such tiny pieces. You'll notice I have large chunks of fabric in small blocks and variety is the key word here in making a Fragments of Beauty type quilt. The more sizes and shapes and colors, the better! Thank you for your ideas and suggestions! Hope yours turns out just as wonderful!!

This is really a neat quilt. I don't think I would have had the patience to make one.

Your quilt is beautiful and the colors are so pretty. It must have taken sometime to complete.

That looks like a lot of work but fun. I have a lot of itty bitty pieces that need a home. I will have to give it some thought.

Beautiful quilt. Isn't it amazing how a beautiful quilt can be made with all those tiny pieces?
