Nanabirdmo, I think it would be a lot easier with your free-motion quilting with your machine working surface as flat as you can have it. Also, wearing rubber gloves such as surgical ones and putting your hands flat on your quilt as you go along will keep the fabric under your control.

That is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to cute and the Z does make for a cute label. What pattern did you use and where did you get the ABC fabric? I'm making a hopechest full of baby things for my "someday" grandbaby.... I'd love to make that
