    I just got a Baby Lock Symphony and am practicing! I gave up thinking the BSR foot on my Bernina 630 would make free motion easier. Didn't happen....

    I also have somewhat mastered fmq.... through trial and error the big thing that made it so much easier was a slider...
    I bought a the sew slip brand. I was useing a teflon pressing sheet tacked down with double sided tape, but the sew slip has a tacky backing that makes it so much easier changing the bobbin thread and it is a bit thicker and lays nicer with out messing around with taping! Well worth the $. Doing it on a Janome Horizon with a open toed free motion foot!

    I also agree with leaving the feed dogs up! Much nicer stitches! (sew slip cover the feed dogs..
