    Welcome from NC. This is a beautiful quilt for your first. I think it is best to quilt whichever way you feel the most comfortable. I like to hand quilt but it takes so long so on the smaller quilts, I usually machine quilt.

    That's really lovely! I am probably one of the few here that don't like to machine quilt. I really love the look and the process of hand quilting. I use Perle cotton floss #8 or #5 and just love to stitch while my hubby watches TV. That's the beauty of quilting.....it's your artwork. Do whatever makes you happy!!!!
