I think your quilt is wonderful I like your choice of fabric and you should gain a lot of confidence starting with a pattern that doesn't have lots of different size pieces. I am a hand quilter most of the time but there are a lot of people who just don't have the patience to do hand quilting or the time. The machine quilting can be gorgeous and a whole other skill set but it can also be very simply done also.. You should start where you are comfortable. If you are drawn to the machine quilts you've seen here and there are many and they are beautiful, you might as well jump in and give it a whirl. But if you drawn to the simplicity of hand quilting and think you would enjoy the process, jump it and do it. Try one on this quilt and the other on the next one. I enjoy both but I'm better at hand quilting and I enjoy it. I always have one of each in the works. Welcome to the world of the quilter.
