you can mail a 5" square of fabric in a 6" x 7 or 8" bubble envelope for much less than $5. You can even put a piece of cereal box cardboard in to help prevent wrinkles and not increase the postage by much .
Yeah the b-day club we are mailing 50 charms and it's just .70 cents. I am careful to use biz envelops and 6x9's so I'm only charged regular postage. Centralized swaps are even better as you mail everything to one person, they swap them and return them in your envelop. One on one, one block at a time, it adds up fast.
