    I do the flip and sew all of the time. Once you have your strips cut the sewing really goes fast and when it is finished, IT IS FINISHED. No more quilting to do.

    This is probably a dumb question, but:

    I want to make a QAYG. Can I make the block, then place the batting and backing and then quilt each block individually before sewing them together??

    Yes, that is what I am doing for two different quilts. I don't like the fun and done patterns, but I love the method. I'm hand quilting one QAYG and machine quilting the other.
