    That is really cute, well they both are. I have the pattern but have never done it, so now I must. You can find tutorials all over the net for this.

    Check out www.brandysquiltpatterns.com. She calls it "Rob Peter to Pay Paul." It is called several different names.

    I put batting in mine but did the whole circle. I was winging it! a square of batting would be OK. you just don't need it in the sides of the circles because they need to fold over. I'm thinking the next one I make may not include batting at all.

    I did for the flower, but my niece is doing it without batting.... thought that was easier for her to learn.
