Darn! I like where you are going with this. I had a box of old ties and couldn't decide what to do and finally gave them away to someone else. I will be watching what they come up with. No big lose I guess as I have way too many UFO's already. I have a shirt that says something like "I have so much fabric to sew I will never be able to die" Yep! that's me. Do keep us updated. I will be watching for a finished product. Maybe it will prod me to get busy.

I will be following your progress with interest. Hubs gave me a pile of his old ties which I have been thinking about how to go about using them in a quilt. I think that you have provided me with the answer .

I love the ties as scrappy! Great idea. Can't wait to see the final quilt.

I love your blocks. I'm going to keep a picture in my ideas file for future reference. Thanks for sharing.

Oh I really like this too. I've got some ties I want to make mini's out of and I like the effect you have created. What size are your blocks?

my blocks are 10" finished...I used a piece of muslin as foundation fabric and used very light stabilizer in the back of the silk ties....works well.....I also cut the ties the width I want them after I iron on the stabilizer....
