gone retro and need help

I love it, its very colorful and happy - it makes me smile. The only thing I might do is take the four center squares (made up of 3 pieces each) and rotate 3 of them clockwise (top right-1/4 turn, bottom right 2/4 turn, bottom left 3/4 turn) so that the floral pieces don't all meet in the center.

The navy blue and white stripe is good, but I think black and white would be jazzier.......and I'm thinking the navy and white stripe is just a background piece, but it looks good!
