Aren't parrots just fun? We will be outside and the phone will ring and neighbors will tell us, but of course we know it is just the bird. Oliver does seagulls and you think you have one in the house. He is so funny.

I had a Congo African Grey that I hand fed and reared as a baby. It loved to cuddle when I fed it. But, once he became weened, he didn't need me anymore and wouldn't step up.

    I named him "Lovey."

He would mimic EVERYTHING. In fact, he made me a nervous wreck. Once I burned something on the stove so bad, the fire alarm went off. It only happened once and he learned it.

Once in a while, he'd mimic the fire alarm briefly and would send me in panic around the house. It's amazing how well they mimic electronic sounds.

I rehomed him with a family. They didn't care for his name "Lovey" and renamed him "Buddy."

What a beautiful bird. Is she a talker? The lady who owned our place before us had a blue and gold parrot. They are a real commitment.
