I love the way you used the stars along with the strips...gives a lot of visual interest to the quilt. Very masculine indeed and you did a great job quilting! I'll have to look for the tear away patterns that you mentioned as I haven't tried FMQ as yet. This is a wonderful quilt!

This was my first attempt at FMQ & I used tear-away patterns from www.QuiltingMadeEasy.com. It's not perfect & was a lot of tearing away of paper pieces, but I am happy with the results. Now that I have tried FMQ with these, next time I'll try my own stipple pattern. I just needed a little confidence builder on my first attempt. Has anyone else used these patterns? I haven't heard them mentioned on the board.
