Love your fabric choices. I can't wait to see the quilt develop. I love piecing. When I piece, I forget every ache and pain and every problem. Helps lower the blood pressure. Keep those pictures coming.

Finished the second block today. It's a log cabin. The center is the yellow with white polka dots, the light is hot pink, and the dark is the purple with the mushroom/ballooning print on it.

In the picture I have, I put the purple on top and the pink on the bottom. Is there a specific thing where traditional log cabins have the light on a certain side and a dark on a certain side? I've never made one, so I really have no idea. I just remembered the conversations about center squares from here. No idea about placement of anything else. The pattern said dark on two sides and light on two sides. It wasn't really specific.

I cut out the pieces for block 3 today. It would be great if I could get 9 blocks done in 9 days. Then I could add the sashing and get to quilting in my new lap frame!

I can't wait to see more of it. I just got a request from my 18 year old grandson. He wants a quilt for graduation this year. Guess I had better get busy too!! :D

    Happy New Year,
    Cheryl

I have a graduation quilt to do also. But before that, I have a wedding in Jan. and one in Feb. (wedding cakes).

The question about the log cabin. I'm no expert, but I don't think it's whether the dark is on the top or the bottom as much as how the blocks are set to achieve different patterns on the quilt. A while back I had googled Log Cabin quilt blocks and one of the sites explained the patterns. I wish I could be more help.
