Finally got the pic to come through. I still don't think it did it justice, but I might have a new camera before she gets her quilt and I'll be able to take a good pic.

The placement of the 9 blocks took me forever. I ended up going with a triangular design. All of the colors fit in a triangle in the top. I like the affect.

I'm very curious to hear your reactions. Got a great sale at Joann's today. Got some bamboo batting and spray adhesive both for 50% off. I'm a happy girl. I'm starting to quilt it..hopefully tomorrow.

oh, mpeters it's beautiful, so colorful and your placement is really great. I love the stories that go with. It's kind of like watching a movie but sharing with us on your journey is like we are almost a part of it all. it's so much fun!

The sampler is 57" square. I have 60" square bamboo batting. I figure 62 in or so backing.

Should I but 2 squares of backing fabric 32 inches square or so and sew them together?

    What would you do?

I never heard of it either until I read a recent batting thread. In fact, there's two of them that should be on the first or second page in the main part...i'm just not sure which one it was.

It acts like a high loft batting and can be heavy even though its thin enough to be low loft. It's 50% bamboo and 50% cotton. The sales girl raved about it for hand quilting....I guess it's good for machine quilting too, but I don't do that often enough to have an opinion.

This will be the first time I'm using it...I'll post when the quilting is done.
