Default Granddaughter made her first quilt!

My 9 year old granddaughter Kristin drew her newborn cousin's name for Christmas and was puzzled about what gift she could give him. I suggested she could make him a quilt and she loved the idea. She did a great job and really enjoyed it. We used a simple pattern, backed it with minkee, (no batting) sewed right sides together and then turned it right side out, and tied it to finish. She can hardly wait to give it to baby Malcolm!

I would be excited to give it too. What a special gift that will be loved forever. She did a wonderful job and perhaps this will spark her to make another.

Congratulations to her. I predict that will become a favorite, cuddly "blanky."
