Granddaughters snake quilt
Merry Christmas to all!
First, to #1piecemaker and donnalynnette - Thank you. Your kindness made this quilt possible.
My granddaughter asked for a snake quilt 3 years ago, at the age of 16. There are a lot of patterns that could be used for snake quilts, but most are kind of 'kid' oriented. I hunted for a pattern with no luck. Last spring I gifted myself with EQ7. While playing with it I came across a block I liked, rotated it a few times and - voila! - the snake quilt pattern was in front of me!
Little did I know that this was the 'quilt pattern from hell' for me! It was/is way out of my comfort zone, and I compounded that by cutting the blue/green fabric wrong! That's where Leesa (#1piecemaker) and donnalynnette come into the picture - saw the fabric listed for sale in a post of Leesa's and asked if I could get some. It was all sold, but Leesa asked Donnalynnette if she could send a yard of it to me, and Donna agreed. What a relief that was to me.
Lots of other 'stuff' happened, all due to 'operator error', but finally, 2 weeks before Christmas it was done and ready.
This morning, my Granddaughter opened it and she loves it! Yay! I told her that it was the 'quilt from hell' - she laughed and gave me a !
Pictures attached.
