Yes! I found that it works better for me! Especially when I do a large quilt as I didn't like how ratty looking the batting became and thinned out on the edges from excessive handling. Plus, the fact that one of our dogs loves to eat the batting from the edges when I'm HQ, haha, that helped me decide really quick to bind first!! Plus, it establishes my parameters for HQ and I love the fact that everything is finished on the quilt and all that is left is HQ!! When the quilt is bound first, you can then see how snug to draw the quilting in. So it was a happy accident that led to this decision. BTW, I just finished HQ it and the leaves really stand out now as I did STD snugly so that they would. (The camera doesn't really show the 3-D depth very well though.) It's in its pkg. ready to be mailed out tomorrow to one lucky lady here on the board! We'll keep it a surprise for now! I'm sure they'll post about it somewhere though! If you'd like me to do one for you, G, just send me some of the scraps you'd like to go in it and I'll do one for you! Lucky lady you are!!
    :-D ;-)

p.s. tried a piano key border and it just didn't provide the excitement the triangles do! The camera doesn't do this quilt justice at all. Much prettier in person!
