    Default Grandma's Sewing Machine

Every birthday and Christmas my two best quilting friends and I exchange gifts. Do you know how hard it is to gift someone who shares the same hobby as you? LOL Some times I replenish supplies like Best Press and pins, other times find new notions I think they may use like a curved scissors for embroidery or one of our favorite rulers in a new size, and other times I make things. All of us have more fabric than we will ever use and since I live 2 hours away, we don't see each other often enough to shop together to know their tastes in fabric and patterns anymore so...........this year I made a wall hanging for their sewing room door or wall. Could they have made it themselves? Yes, but neither likes the fiddly applique that I do. Both also have a Featherweight or a collection of them. Here is Grandma's Sewing Machine available in a kit or pattern from www.whims.cc , of which I have no affiliation. (I bought the kit.) Hope they like it.

That’s awesome, you’re a good friend. I too wouldn’t be happy to do a lot of fiddly appliqué. I love the Quilt Diva but haven’t made it yet because it’s all appliqué. I need a friend like you, LOL.

You did a wonderful job! It is adorable, and so many small pieces to work with. Love all the detail on the machine. They will love it I am sure.
