    This picture is from a number of years ago, someone had asked to see it so I searched it back up, grandma did love this quilt for the years she had it. She passed away right after Christmas. She was my Hubby's grandmother, and my grandmother's best friend. My g.m.passed away years ago, the hanky was hers, so it meant all that much more to her to have the quilt from me with the piece of her best friend from much younger days

    What a beautiful thing you did. The handkerchief appears to have what my Mother used to edge her
    handkerchief's with called hairpin lace, I think. Thank you for re-posting this picture.
    It is wonderful to preserve special treasures such as this. You did a great job.

    A really quaint and novel idea to use the handkerchief as a little tablecloth below the vase of flowers. A lovely gesture which I'm sure GM will love and cherish the memories it contains.
