Default Grandson quilt finally delivered in person

We have not seen our grandsons in WA for a year. We drive, and because the kids (2 & 4) weren't vaccinated until recently, they wouldn't fly. We left on our annual trip the 18th of September and returned home to IL on the 22nd of October. The advantages of being retired! Eight days out and back and three weeks at their house! We take our time taking mostly state roads when we can, to enjoy the beautiful sites our country has to offer. Last year we visited 7 National Parks and this year 4 with Olympic NP a weekend with all of us. Here are a few pictures of the quilt I delivered to the youngest, Ozzie, as a slightly belated gift for his 2nd birthday.

The first is me sandwiching it on our ping pong table in the basement.
The second is showing the finished quilt on our twin sized guest bed after washing. The pattern is Elizabeth Hartman's: Awesome Ocean. The kiddos are often taken to Brackett's Landing on low tide to see the sea creatures. I quilted it with a pattern called ripples, done horizontally to resemble ripples in the water.
The third is ALL of us under the quilts, as the 4 yr. old insisted on dragging his 2 yr. old gift (Elizabeth Hartman's: Fancy Forest quilted like wood grain vertically) to be able to cover all of us LOL
Her patterns have so many pieces, but if you are well organized, they are very doable.

Oh how I love your pictures and quilts! I’m glad you were able to have a nice long visit with your family. I like the animal quilts although I don’t have any of the patterns to make one. Thanks for providing the info though.

This is a great example of why many of us do what we do - lots of family, love and memories being made right there. So glad your gorgeous quilt made it to the grands! Thanks for sharing.
