How special, I love 30's quilts. And it is great that you will keep the family quilting gene going.

How lucky for you to have this beautiful quilt top...Hope you hand quilt it.....as it's one that took your GG mega, mega hours to make. It deserves the gentleness of hand stitching.... Hand quilting is sewwwwwwwww relaxing and it SLOWS us down... Since we live in such a hurried world..... it forces us to take time to SMELL the ROSES. :) Machine quilting is BEAUTIFUL on the modern quilts of today. BUT antique quilts should be preserved to represent a more peaceful, slower paced time in this world.

You have a real TREASURE in your hands. SEW BEAUTIFUL!

Yes, but the red triengles are turned differently than the 7 Sisters blocks. Wonder if it was intentional.

What a lovley time you will have working on this by hand.

As so many have said, what a treasure this is! How fun it will be to handquilt it and bring you so close to your great grandmother. I envisioned a celtic trinity knot in the green triangles but then I found an image of a celtic trinity heart. This would be a lovely quilting motif in the solid triangles. Here is a link to the image I found.

I know you didn't ask for input on how to quilt it but couldn't resist. ;-)

    PS: welcome to the board!

Hope you can find someone to handpiece it. :)
