That turned out fantastic either sideways or right side up. LOL. That was an awful lot of work but well worth it.

Wonderful! That's using every last scrap, it seems like I throw away tiny triangles. Maybe I'll have to start saving them. My photos appear on their side too. Luckily with most quilts, it doesn't matter. Good job!

Great quilt....did you do it all at once or use the Leaders and Enders while working on another project?

WOW - sure looks like a ton of work.....I love scrappy quilts....and I like your use of light and dark fabrics with the dark always on the bottom of the piece.......

They are 2" finished half square triangles. 80 blocks. It started out as a cleaning of the sewing room project. I had 3 boxes of batik scraps and wanted to thin them out. Ha Ha, now I have even more. I used as many of the scraps as I could then went to buying lots more batiks. Used the multiple half square triangle method as much as possible. Thanks much for all the comments. Glad you enjoyed it. I will enjoy it on my bed until they bury me. I used a wool batting. Oh, you have never slept so comfy as you will under a wool batting quilt. Took me about 6 months of sewing every day to piece the quilt. I'm a bit obsessed with sewing little bits of fabric together. It was a pattern from McCalls Quilting magazine Oct. 2011. Loved the pattern so I saved it. I think it measures 82" by 102", a queen sized quilt.

Your gorgeous quilt would look good sideways, upside down, tilted or any which way. Thank you for sharing, it is beautiful and something I want to do. As a lover of HSTs I'm always looking for things to do with them so thank you for giving me another idea. May I ask how long it took to make that beauty? Could a person just make HSTs over a period of time and then when you have enough put them all together? That way you wouldn't get discouraged as you make so many of them. This would work for me as I always have three or more projects going at the same time so I can switch between them, thus avoiding the unlikely chance of becoming bored with a project.
