I cut the hexies with my regular 6" ruler. Just cut a 6" strip, then use the 60° line to cut the end off. Then put the edge on that angled line and cut again so you have a diamond shape. Then cut the triangles off the diamond, again just using the width of the ruler. You end up with hexies that are 3.5" each side (not finished size). A quilt goes together much quicker with the large size. I didn't paper piece them, just sewed to the 1/4" mark.
