I envy that you can hand quilt....my ol' hands just won't allow it. There are no rules here on how quickly we have to finish a quilt, how we piece, bind or quilt them.... it is completely to each, their own :D :D   :D :D
Thank you amma! I'm soglad you like it.
I worry about the day when I can no longer hand quilt, so little time, so many quilts! :D

That is one of the reason I love this board, so diverse in quilters and so much information!

I love handwork, but alas, i too, want to do, so many things.
I guess i'll have to be happy with my embroidery embellishments, when I get around to them, lol

Thanks QC, Maybe I can quilt for you and you can embroidery for me!

Hi Ninnie - your quilt is beautiful - I too am a hand quilter along with hand piecing. I have a sewing machine and do not know where to begin to use it. :( :( :( so I guess I'll just keep sewing by hand. The scrappy part is what scares me I have a hard time matching colors and never know if they will look good together. Keep up the good work. :!: :!: :!: :!:

Thanks JUNEBUG! So glad you like it.

The trick to scrap quilting is by values not so much colors, Lights, darks and mediums. When you start look at scraps that way , it gets easier. I always make piles of them in these values and then go from there. I have learned over the years that you need a little yellow in every scrap quilt, or at least that's the way I see it.

I love that there are so many hand quilters here!

You can practice by making 3in squares from darks, mediums and lights and place each pile in a separate bag and then just pull 3 out and sew them together
This is a fun way to stop just looking at the color.

I guess I love the part of being surprised.

this is gorgeous. I'm a handquilter also- I'd love to see some closeup photos of the quilting designs. In my opinion, that's what makes the quilt.

What a beautiful quilt, Ninnie. I love the look of scrap quilts, and really like your design with this one.
