Hey, the bigger stitches fit the motif. Try just working on even stitches, then work on smaller stitches. My first 2 quilts were done (on purpose) with the bigger stitches just to get the "hang of it". Just don't give up!!! I have started back crocheting and believe me, I still don't get it to guage and I'm either too tight or too loose. That's why I don't do clothes!!! It'll come.

It all takes practice. In order to get staight stitching lines, I use what is called Tiger Tape. It is a very narrow version of masking tape and you can get it in different widths, I think.

Everyone has alway told me---practice, practice and more practice. I have only hand quilted 1 large and 3 baby quilts. I actually think my stitces were too small. I do the stab stitching, cannot get a grip on the rocking stitch!

Doesn't the Tiger Tape have markings on it so that you can follow the marks - or is it just a narrow tape. Been looking for it but can't find it. Maybe am looking for the wrong thing.
