    Default Hand quilting practice

First try hand quilting and the quilt top the practice block is leftover from.

I pinned the quilt layers together but it was really crooked so I have to take it apart and redo it

Hand (as well as machine quilting, I'm sure) definitely takes practice. If you have wonky left over blocks from other projects, just use them for your practice/starter sandwiches. Even just plain pieces of fabric front/back w/batting. I wouldn't bother taking out stitches from a practice block - just make another one.

Good job. Just keep plugging along and don't let any quilt police discourage you. I hand quilt and my stitches are not always even, sometimes they turn but I just keep going and most times I am happy with the outcome and that is what is important.

I am self taught hand quilting, with many questions and much practice I am now pretty good. I am my own critic.... You did pretty good for 1st quilting....My first question was how to hide knots and I asked lots of people and got many answers. But I know now how to do it... just ask this board if you having any questions.

I like your effort & would be pleased if my first time hand quilting looked as good. I must practice!
