    Default hand stitched antique quilt

This is a hand pieced quilt.. It was a challenge. The edge was pure bias stretched from years of holding it up sharing it. Nothing anywhere was straight or square. The HST were all different sizes. Some of the patches were even gathered to make them fit. But it is so pretty. Like so often back then when they only had enough fabric for five of the HST, they sixth one was a second color. The inside is like a hankerchief linen and the border is a muslin. But it works. I love it. I hope the maker would feel good with how it turned out. I kept the quilting to feathered wreaths and pumpkin seeds and cross hatching which would have been done if hand quilted.. It was tough but it was thrilling to get to work on it.
