I think it's cool, it looks like it should work like a charm.

I am just so dog-gone excited to try this new thread holder my brother made for me. He just delivered it today while visiting for lunch.

I had asked him a couple weeks ago to make something to hold my thread while machine embroidering. I was holding the thread in a glass and that worked ok for a while and then it would break the thread at some unexpected moment. So I was frustrated with the embroidering.

It isn't tried out yet... but, it looks perfect to me.

    God bless brothers!
Great handi work...Can you tell us the purpose of the little wooden bar on top of the base, in front of the thread?

Glad u have an better thread holder and tell your brother what an awesome one that he made & the "crowd" is going bannas over his invention! would love to know if he would make a couple more and see how it sells?
As for the wooden bar at the bottom....i think its to keep the thread cone from bouncing around?

What a great brother you have. The wire looks like the ends of saftety pins, too. So cute and creative.

Your brother sounds like my was. Mine passed in 2006, and I miss him so much. We were always so close and he would do anything for me.
