One of my guild sisters made a very similar block as a wall hanging. Very effective.

A very clever idea. I have seen hankies used for the skirts of colonial or gibson girls before. It is nice to see the update. I have seen beautiful hankies in antique stores-some with beautiful crochet or tatting on them. Whether you take the offer above or start collecting them on your own, you have a wonderful idea.

Great idea......trying to picture finished block....skirt will be folded hankie, bodice, solid color fused on fabric (?),face, hand, hair, foot, shoe to be embroidered? Hmm, I have some old hankies somewhere too....

What a nice idea. I have one hanky from my mother and I put it inside one of those clear Christmas balls for an ornament on my Christmas tree. Of course only get to look at Christmas time. Like what you are doing.

Well it seemed like a good idea but it really won't be practical in a quilt. I could do a wall hanging I guess. I didn't want to sew the hanky all down so a quilt is out. Here it is anyway.
