On Sunday, I taught my 8-year old GD, Hannah Mae, how to sew, press, rotary cut and how to put her quilt together. She sewed 9 of the squares herself and then used 3 sqs her 12-year old cousin had left over from her quilt. I put on the border, backing and quilted it for her. It is doll-size. I think she did a great job. She is a natural and listened and followed my directions to the letter. Wow! That was nice. She was able to use my Pfaff 2040. I set it on my typing table and we put the foot peddle on a cushion. Putting the foot peddle on a cushion was a great idea because she could not press down hard enough to make the machine go too fast. We had a lovely day. I also taught her how to braid and how to crochet. I was exhausted!

So wonderful of you to spend your time teaching a young one how to sew and knit. Her quilt turned out so well. They really can learn fast at that age.
