Happy Birthday! I also have this machine. I have had it for about 5 years now. I have never had any problems with it and have never oiled it like someone else mentioned. You will love its features! I think it is perfect for quilting! So many wonderful features. What is the binding tool you mentioned? I don't have that.

Happy Birthday, u will looooove your machine I have MC6600 with the same table etc etc and my husband is finding it hard to get me away from it. Beautiful present for your birthday. Enjoy.
