Thank you all so much! I am overwhelmed with your wonderful comments and encouragement
I received a template from Kathyaire from the board and these gave me a good starting point. My LQS have also done a similar design as classes and they call it Daisy May' (I did not take the class) so I have been able to see something similar up close and could work out the placement etc. In the end I redrew my own petals and leaves so that I had a ratio that pleased my eye. The butterfly appliqué embroidery patterns are from the embroidery library site where they also have detailed instructions for making themhttp://www.emblibrary.com/el/default.aspx
They went together very well.
I think I should also point out (as he did so well! lol) that my husband appliqued all of the centres of the flowers and some of the leaves! lol
credit where credit is due! lol
I will email Kathyaire and see if she is willing to still share her templates as she started me off on this project I do not think I should send anything without asking her. But I really want everyone to make one of these! lol
