thanks dearheart. i had another one i bought from Walmart when it first came out. Had it 3 yrs and one day the top thread wouldn't connect to bottom, so i took it to our local Viking dealer .......MISTAKE...... The butthead said it was a piece of sh***.....Wanted me to buy a machine from hin, I was angry & left... Paid $65 to have it fixed .. He said the bobbin was out of time? I used it twice and heard this loud clicking. NEVER HEAR BEFORE.I called. Of course I got the I told you so speach so I hung up on him. It's boxed up. Next time I go to Sequim (next town over) I'll bring it to the guy there. In the meantime I bought another and I'm soooooooooooo happy with it.

Lucky you! I love your quilt without the sashing. Good choice.

Thanks dearheart. I like it better too. It sure went together better. The sashing was so frustrating.

    Hi Bev:
I have a generation OLDER machine from yours...a Brother XR-65t that I cart back and forth to quilt classes and quilt group and I LOVE IT. It has been the best machine ever and it's a work horse. If you can get your old one fixed I would. Brother makes a good machine. My OTHER machine is a computerized New Home Memory Craft 8000 which I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, too. I bought it 20 years ago and it's been a workhorse as well. Enjoy your machine and don't believe what that machine repairman says...those of us who own a Brother and have used them to death know HE IS WRONG!

That looks like a nice machine. You'll have to let us know what you think of it after you use it for awhile. Enjoy!!

I love Brother machines too, I have no complaints with them (thus far LOL) My last machine was a brother, I've had it for almost 20 years now. It needs a good cleaning and a tune-up ( i thought it was dead and ready for the great quilting room in the sky! but I was wrong  ) Sooo, I'm going to have the work done to it, so my oldest daughter will have a machine to learn on. It took me years and years, but she FINALLY wants mom to teach her how to sew!! :D
