    I love scrappy quilts, and especially like this one, which have many different interesting fabrics.

    And of course the story behind it makes it even more special.

The nice thing about this quilt is that you don't have to worry about anything being out of order. It was really was a relief working this way for once. I found myself saying "oh no, I have three HST's together right in a row, but you know what, it didn't really matter. That's the way I wanted the last row to look on the right side because it balanced the top left with the low contrast blocks. It gradually got darker toward the bottom but only subtilly -- just the way I wanted. So you see you can't go wrong with a quilt like this! ANYONE can do this!
