I DONT KNOW. Of course the rents are high but I think they are also high in LA.
The meter (39 and a bit inch) go between $22 to $28. Westfalen fabric is about $ 32........without the online shops I would be bancrupt by now.

You wont find a shop that labels the envelope or box with "gift" but you find some writing an amount below $40 on it to avoid taxes (psssst!)
The shipping for an envelope is $ 14 (6 yards) and for a box (25 yards) $43. If you have to pay custom for the box it add again $35............but still cheaper than over here. I mostly shop if there is a sale or free shipping.

Next time I'm griping about the price of fabric increasing here, I'll try to remember what you have to pay in Europe. We don't realize how lucky we are over here.

Wow!! Do you ever shop on Ebay??? You could get much better prices on good quality fabric and shipping in a flat-rate envelope is only around 13.00 for up to 4 pounds. You can fit a lot in them.

It's so expensive. Keep on shipping. It's more expensive here in England then the USA but nowhere near your prices.

My companies home office is in Basel. Everything seems to be expensive there. Do you have family in the US to visit, might be good to have an empty suitcase.

Wow!! I wouldn't be able to afford to quilt or even sew at those prices. I won't think anything now of paying $8.50 a yard.

Very expensive. That is for fabric only. You still have wadding, backing and thread to purchase.

Whats even worse they have "old" fabric. Of course they cant have each and every new collection, but shopping for the bear fabric I saw blue fabric I would like to have.
P&B Mendocino night blue sky for $ 22. That collection seams to be so old that I cant find it online in a known shop!
