Looks good! My husband keeps giving me his flannel shirts when he gets a hole in the arm or somewhere. I just keep taking them apart and storing them. Now I have a great idea of how to use them. Thanks for the picture!

I made a rag quilt for my nephew all from flannel shirts from Goodwill. I found their clearance center that sells clothes by the pound.. The best part is chosing very good quality flannel. There are tons of them during the summer.

I loved my Pfaff...but not for quilting. My daughter needed a sewing machine for something and I let her take it home because I just feel like it is so easy to operate, never messes up. I couldn't believe I let her take it but I did...I kept my Juki and use it almost exclusively. I have a Viking that I kept for the blanket stitch. But I hardly ever use it. Now when I sew something on it, I am always trying to use my knee to lift the pressure foot...haha (The Juki has a kneelift for the pressure foot.)

My Gram called this kind of quilt an utility quilt. Her reasoning for that name was it could take on about any job around the house,be useful and still look dang good.Wall, bed,(morF) floor, couch. beach, grassy picnics lunches. A quilt you will always remember cause it was always serving a purpose of it's own and was in the right place at the right time. i love these sorts of quilts, they embody everything from frugglness, tobeauty, simple charm.I love it. you did a great job.
