Oh wow! This is an incredibly intricate top that's been executed just perfectly. My kudos and admiration go out to you for sticking with it! What a work of art.

Did you do a blind hem stitch on the applique? Can't see the stitching...

Yes. If the piece is small I change my width and length to "match" the size of the piece. Larger pieces I set my stitch width to 3.0 and length to 3.0

it is just so gorgeous, I'm glad you didn't have the pattern just sit there.
Thank you for the quilting suggestion. I hope my quilter knows McTavishing. I love that look.

Someone posted a picture the other day of a quilt that was appliqued and she had a bead board stitched in the border. I can't seem to find it now. Can anyone tell me where to find this?
Do you all think this would look nice in my borders around the swags?

I haven't done much applique, but this is awsome. I buy patterns all the ime in hopes that I will make it one day. And my DD would say "yea, right mom".

Beautiful work, and I love this pattern!! Maybe just echo quilting or small meandering in the background to bring the applique pieces up. That is also a beautiful border...love the whole thing.

I am working on my first large machine applique quilt, using the fusible method. I just love it so far!! I am excited to keep going on it. Hoping to finish it for our guild show in January 2012.

I'm very new at this, but I see outline or SID around pieces and stippling for the "white" background areas. Whatever, make those birds and flowers and bees POP!!! Then the border, scallops or loops? Looking forward to seeing it in all it's glory, but it's pretty glorious even now. Good job!
